The Defintive Guide to Bridal Make Up Abroad

If you are doing your own make-up or are travelling abroad to get married here are some helpful tips from make-up artist Tracey Woodhouse you can follow.

Beauty and Make-up Editor, Tracey Woodhouse

I am not one to preach but remember to always wear a sun cream of at least a factor 30 so many brides to be dash of on holiday to enjoy a week of sun bathing before the BIG day and end up burning their skin by overdoing the sunbathing on the first day!

A trick or two. If you are getting married abroad and would like to know how to create a bridal make-up look which is going to look great and last all day in the heat of the holiday sun why now book a Bridal Make-up Lesson. Weddings abroad are so popular but knowing what products are best for the climate is another thing plus how do you apply your make-up to give you flawless photographic look? Booking a make-up lesson with a local salon or Make-up artist is a great way to solve your worries.

A lesson is a great way for you to understand what colours look good on you, which products you prefer this way you can purchase your items before your wedding day and practice your look.

Fake it. If you are getting married abroad and are looking to achieve the bronze beach goddess look remember you can always fake it by going to your local salon for a quick spray tan before you travel. It’s always a bit embarrassing going down to the pool on your first day of your holidays and being the whitest person on the sun bed. It is so popular to get a spray tan before you go abroad that way you feel and look tanned without even doing your skin any harm plus from the first photograph you will look as though you have been there for weeks!

Stay hydrated. Water is the best choice. Drink in proportion to how much you perspire. It's best to take frequent, moderate portions. Too much sugar, as in soda, can undermine the benefits of the liquid, and alcohol can dehydrate you outright. Staying hydrated will ensure your skin is also in great shape for those all importing wedding pictures.

Picture Perfect. One thing brides getting married abroad worry about is their make-up lasting the whole day and that their make-up will slide off because of the heat. Its important to prepare on the day of your wedding abroad ensure your skin has been kept out of the sun and you thoroughly prepare your skin by applying your sun cream at least thirty minutes before going out into the sun it is popular to have your ceremony early morning before 11am or 4pm towards the end of the day as the sun is setting so is much cooler than the heat of the midday sun which can cause strong glare for photographs.
